# LOCA > LOCA is a free neighborhood app for giving things away, asking for what you need, borrowing instead of buying, and offering help to people who live near you. Nothing on it is for sale. iPhone app and website. Tagline: Your stuff. Your people. Nearby. ## What LOCA does - Give: pass on something you no longer need; a neighbor asks for it with one tap. - Ask: post what you need (a ladder, a stroller, moving boxes) and people nearby see it. - Borrow: borrow something from a neighbor and return it, instead of buying it new. - Help: offer a hand or find one, from carrying a sofa to fixing a fan. ## How it works 1. Sign up with Apple, Google or email and share roughly where you live. The neighborhood sets itself from the location (named by barangay and city; LOCA was built in the Philippines). 2. Posts are shown nearest first. Exact addresses are never shown, only an approximate area and a distance. 3. Ask for a post with one tap. The owner sees every request in one place, grouped by post and by kind, and accepts or declines. 4. When a request is accepted a chat opens, with voice and video calls, to agree when and where to meet. 5. Both people mark the handoff done and rate each other. Ratings come only from real handoffs. ## Safety Every account agrees to terms of use. People can report a post, a message or a person, block anyone, and remove their own content. Reports are acted on within 24 hours.
